Technology progress impacts how we interact with the world
It was the advent of the first commercially produced microprocessor from IBM in 1971 that really set the path for the modern computer system we are familiar with today. A US company called Garrett AiResearch that was specialized in aerospace technologies and US based Texas Instruments one of the current big global manufacturers of semiconductor electronics, were among the first microprocessor (circa 1969-1971) projects as well. Not to mention it gave rise to the smartphone era also that practically changed how people interact nowadays. Mechanically, the internal combustion engine which replaced the steam engine (external combustion engine) is a major leap in transportation advancement within this century also though lately, hybrid and more recently fully electric vehicles are becoming prominent in the industry these days.
